Plans
to expand and recent challenges

The social, economic, and political conditions in Costa Rica continue
to widen the gap between demand and the public services provided
for children at risk.
Taking these factors
into account, Roblealto implemented an Institutional Development
Plan in 2000, which is expected to wrap up in 2007. Our plan calls
for a 30% increase in the number of children we help. This is
an enormous challenge, considering the high quality of the services
we provide.
Soon
fifty more children will enter our doors!

In response to the increasing number of children that require
our services, the 15 de Setiembre Day Care Center,
is being expanded. Presently, we attend to a 102 boys and girls
but are planning to increase the capacity to 150 children.
Our services are always
in great demand, and we would love to open our doors to everyone
in need. The first stage of the remodeling of the 15 de Setiembre
Day Care Center is now complete, but we are continuing to raise
funds to finish the project, so that it may run at its optimum
capacity.

Why
is it so urgent to finish this project?
- The purchasing power
of wages diminishes with each passing day, while the number
of poor continues to grow. This factor requires more mothers
to leave the home to satisfy the basic needs of the family.
Roblealto is an important option, providing much needed support
for them.
- Increasing the number
of children from 102 to 150 at this specific Center is an important
contribution to the community by improving the socio-economic
conditions of many more families.
- The presence of
this Day Care Center in the community for the last 31 years
is a testimony to the dedication of Roblealto. And with the
help of God, many lives have been transformed that otherwise
would have been hopeless without our programs.
- We want to continue
giving faith and support to children, families, and this community
for many more years to come.
What
impact do we have on the community?
- When you improve
the quality of life for a child, the entire community benefits.
Our mission is much more than simply feeding and caring for
children. We give these young people a foundation, where they
learn, value, and respect themselves. The values these children
come to possess are then spread like seeds in their homes and
communities.
- 85% of children
and families we help experience improved quality of life.
- The impact we can
have on just one life is our greatest testimony. The transformed
life of a child, youth, or adult speaks volumes more than any
statistics we could provide.
