Minnesota Father Brings Daughters, Friends, on Mission Trip

This week Roblealto's Bible Home hosted a group of seven high school students led by one of their fathers. Chuck Webster, of Medina, MN traveled with his two daughters and their friends to Costa Rica on a mission trip. While at the Bible Home, they worked hard to paint the majority of the interior of Nido House. But it was the evenings spent with the children of Nido, and other houses, that defined their week of mission. The students brought creative crafts to share, and in the end a great connection was made.
This trip represented a different kind of mission experience, one based on families. Normally, groups come to Roblealto connected through a specific church. But this group proved that Christian families and friends can be very effective in mission together! We thank Mr. Webster for his leadership and vision and for the young women who blessed the children of Roblealto!
All-Stars at Roblealto!
This summer, something life-changing happened for two of our boys at the Bible Home. Lymberth and José Manuel were selected to be on the national baseball team representing Costa Rican in the Pan-American Baseball Tournament! Both boys have been part of the Bible Home’s baseball team lead by Gerardo, the volunteer recreational director. God has used baseball to improve the lives of Lymberth and José Manuel as they use their talents and have discovered a passion for baseball.
When José Manuel came to the Bible Home in 2009, his family’s dysfunctional relationships caused him to lack hope in his future and respect for others. He at first resisted the love and treatment at the Bible Home, but found through sports a passion and a motivation that has spread to all areas of his life. As he grew in confidence on the ball field, he improved his attitude toward others.
Lymberth came to the Bible Home in 2007 because his mother had abandoned the family. Lymberth also had learning problems and was struggling in school. Being on the baseball team has improved his self-esteem and allowed him to grow emotionally, academically and improve his behavior. We are so proud of the success of these boys in their baseball skills. May God bless them richly as they represent not only Costa Rica, but Roblealto’s ministry as well.
