Volunteer Group from Trinity Methodist Church Shares Love and Skill

Trinity Methodist Church from Connecticut has had a relationship with Roblealto for over 30 years through the sponsorship of children. This month that relationship took a brand new turn as Trinity arrived with 17 highly skilled and motivated volunteers to serve at Roblealto’s Bible Home. The group threw themselves  into their projects which consisted of building shelves for the volunteer tool room, painting bedrooms in the Jardín House, painting the garage, pruning and doing yard maintenance.

While these physical projects blessed Roblealto in many ways, a deeper meaning for the trip took shape as Trinity’s members personally invested in the children at the Bible Home.  The group was struck by Roblealto's ministry and restorative work in the lives of children.  They also developed a passion for the new child care center planned for Los Guido’s impoverished community. Within just a few days, Trinity members were asking how they could begin to promote Roblealto’s ministries and visions to churches back home.

The group left with a new impression of how their congregation could make a difference at Roblealto for generations to come. On the last day of their trip the children threw a party for the Trinity members to show their appreciation.

Pastor Skip Eggimann who led the group expressed these thoughts: “We have been on other mission trips where the focus was the necessary work to be accomplished. That work was important. But at Roblealto the work is only part of it. Here we were invited into the lives of the children at the Bible Home. This is a different level of missions.”

Roblealto’s thanks the members of Trinity for their continued ministry and partnership!
