Enrique Strachan School

Founded in 1939, the Enrique Strachan School served the children that lived at the Bible Home. In 1970, the school began to also serve children from the community which currently make up about 40% of the students. There are a total of 135 children at the school in kindergarten through sixth grade classrooms.

Strachan School has been recognized for the excellence of its service and for its specialization in working with the children with learning disabilities and behavioral challenges. The Enrique Strachan School offers small class sizes and individual attention to allow students to be successful. Due to this excellence, the school began to receive public funds in 1974 from the Ministry of Education to help provide teachers for the school. In addition to the customary academics, the children receive instruction in computers, English, art, music and physical education. The school also offers a special program for the families within the community, called School for Parents, where they learn to better their family dynamic.

Roblealto Christian School in the Spotlight for National Egg Day!

Parts of Costa Rica celebrated National Egg Day on October 2 and this included the students at the Bible Home’s Enrique Strachan School. They, along with about 900 others from the community, enjoyed a free breakfast of eggs and gallo pinto (rice and beans). A sixth grader from Strachen School opened the ceremonies with a speech and a choir of about 20 Roblealto students sang for the event. The emcee of the event, a famous newscaster from Costa Rica, spoke about the value of making eggs part of a regular diet because of their high vitamin and protein content, but relative low cost when compared to meat.
