Project for the
Acquisition of a Means of Transportation
I. Project justification
At this time, a fundamental need
of the organization is to replace the 1987 Toyota Liteace minibus presently
in use, which is devoted to the aforementioned tasks, such as:
- Transporting the children and
adolescents to medical, dental, and orthopedic appointments, special
and recreational events.
- Transporting goods such as food
and various materials and equipment to the three day care centers.
- Collecting in-kind donations
from public and especially private entities.
- Carrying out visits to the homes
of the beneficiary population by the Interdisciplinary Teams for the
purpose of providing follow-up in relation to the treatment that is
received at the institutional level.
This minibus is in a deteriorated
state due to the prolonged use it has been given, thereby requiring
constant maintenance and repair. Some of the spare parts for the vehicle
have been discontinued, so parts have to be adapted. Under these conditions,
the vehicle is not safe for the passengers, limits the efficiency of
the operation of the programs and also generates constant expenses.
Another reason that the minibus
should be replaced is related to the “Student Transportation”
Permission. Obtaining or renewing this Permission implies complying
with the requirement of the law that states that the vehicle be a maximum
of 10 years old with regard to the model year, besides being in good
mechanical condition as is always demanded.
II. Project objectives
Provide a means of transportation
to the children of the Roblealto Child Care Association that makes the
transfer of the kids to the different services they receive outside
the day care centers easier and safer
III. Budget
The proposal consists of the purchase
of the latest model of a Toyota Hiace Commuter minibus, with capacity
for 15 passengers. The cost of the minibus is $30,000. The institution
will provide the amount it obtains from the sale of the minibus to be
replaced, as a counterpart contribution for the project.
